A Call to Action

We acknowledge other cities rank as more overall pedestrian- and bike-friendly due to planning for designated bike lanes and the like, and we also sadly acknowledge that Florida ranks highest for biking fatalities. This is a challenge to Orlando and the surrounding communities to continue their efforts and invest in biking and walking options for both safety and health.

To accomplish this, funding for bike trails and bike- and pedestrian-friendly roadways needs to be a transportation priority not only at the local but at the state and federal levels. A big step forward was securing funding for the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail. We encourage you to contact your legislators and representatives and let them know you support funding for bicycle-related projects. Here's a link to find your Florida State representatives.
