Lake County, to the west of Orlando, gets its name from the more than 1,400 named lakes in the county. With rolling hills along the Lake Wales Ridge, Lake County offers more challenging Central Florida biking including some of the highest points in Florida.
Connect to the West Orange Trail (Orange County)
to create 30 miles of continuous paved bike trail riding
The Van Fleet Trail (D), although not included on this website due to its distance (i.e., greater than 30 miles from downtown Orlando), is a premier Florida bike trail in Lake and Polk Counties. When the South Lake Trail connector is done (as part of the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail), this will be an even more awesome ride.
D = Destination Trail with unique interest due to length,
beauty and variety of uses, worth the drive (most include Neighborhood Trail characteristics).
N = Neighborhood Trails and Paths serving a community to link homes, shopping, business, parks, and schools.
