Biking/Walking Path, Connecting to Cady Way Trail

Ward Park is a 66.4 acre sports complex in Winter Park. While most of Ward Park is devoted to sports, it includes the Loch Lomond Trail for biking and walking, plus a Fitness Trail with 10 fitness stations. This trail winds through the scenic Park, we saw people many biking and walking on this day. It also connects via a cycle track to the Cady Way Trail. (Map and photos below).

Biking from Cady Way Trail to Ward Park

From the Cady Way Trail, we biked on the cycle track along Cady Way to Perth Lane (about 4/10 mile) - along this section are Cady Way Pool, Brookshire Elementary School, Showalter Stadium, and soccer fields. The cycle track ends at Perth Lane and Ward Park Loch Lomond Trail starts at the corner. Along Perth Lane, the trail passes more athletic fields and the Crosby Wellness Center, then along a pleasant wooded section with multiple paths. We ended this segment at a playground and Little League complex (about 4/10 mile). From here, we visited the Fitness Trail (1/3 mile), then meandered around on paths through the scenic wetlands park (another 1/4 mile), with small ponds, picnic tables and benches. We ended back on Perth Lane, and returned to Cady Way Trail. A short but pleasant ride through scenic surroundings with a lot of variety.

Fields and Facilities

Ward Park packs a lot onto its 66 acres: parking, restrooms, 25 picnic tables, four tennis courts, 10 baseball/softball fields, a little league complex, five soccer fields, playground, reservable pavilion, barbecue grill, stadium, two concession buildings, a fitness trail, a bike trail, and walking path. A section of trail goes past the Peggy & Philip Crosby Wellness Center, providing a route to the complex.
