Lake County, to the west of Orlando, gets its name from the more than 1,400 named lakes in the county. With rolling hills along the Lake Wales Ridge, Lake County offers more challenging Central Florida biking including some of the highest points in Florida. Lake County has an aggressive trails plan in place and we look forward to reporting on the newest additions.
Find trails near you, along with updates on new trail construction. Lake County biking reports contain in-sequence ride photos, plus E-Z open trail maps (no memberships, no sign-ins, full privacy). For nature lovers, check-out some unpaved eco-biking trails in Lake County.
The Van Fleet State Trail (D), although not included on this website due to its distance (i.e., greater than 30 miles from Orlando), is a premier Florida bike trail (one of our Top 10) in Lake and Polk Counties. When the South Lake Trail connector is done (as part of the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail), this will be an even more awesome ride.
D = "Destination Trail" of
special interest, due to length and features; worth a drive (most include Neighborhood Trail characteristics).
N = "Neighborhood Trail" serving a community for recreation, and to link homes,
schools, parks, business, and shopping.
