Bumby Path
Reported: December 2020
The Bumby Multi-use Path runs along N. Bumby Avenue between E. Colonial Drive (SR 50 ) and Corrine Drive. Part of the Orlando Downtown Loop, the one-mile path is a connector for the Audubon Park District, Cady Way Trail and Orlando Urban Trail. Though the paved bike trail is short, it's welcomed by bikers to avoid the traffic on Bumby Ave., Orlando's 5th busiest 2-lane road. (Map and photos below).
Location: Orange County (Orlando)
Mileage: 1 mile
Surface: paved, 10 feet wide
Trailheads/Parking: Lake Druid Park
Nearby Points of Interest: Leu Gardens, Lake Druid
Park
Bike Shops / Bike Rentals:
Winter Park Cycles (Baldwin Park, Orlando; sales, service)
Page Summary:
The path starts a block north of E. Colonial Drive at Rosedale Road and runs 1 mile north to Corrine Drive. Here it will link to the future bike path planned for Corrine Drive/Virginia Drive, connecting Audubon Park to the Orlando Urban Trail and emerging Orlando Downtown Loop. The Bumby Path crosses the street route along Illinois St. linking the Cady Way Trail and Orlando Urban Trail.
Starting from E. Colonial Drive a wide sidewalk leads to Rosedale Road and the start of the path. It runs along the east side of N. Bumby Ave., through a residential area. Several road crossings, so use caution. This is an easy ride, but little shade. Note: At Colonial Drive, a sign points south to E. Livingston St. (bike path) and Festival Park (Lake Underhill Path), but crossing busy Colonial Drive is the challenge here.
