St. Cloud Biking
Latest update: January 2026
Florida's Osceola County and the City of St. Cloud are expanding their trails system to accommodate multiple users and create a connected network, enhancing the community’s recreational opportunities, and adding to the safety of trail users.
We visited four connecting biking trails along East Lake Tohopekaliga: 1) the recreational trail at St. Cloud Lakefront Park (a scenic 2-mile trail along East Lake Tohopekaliga with access to park facilities), 2) the Florida Avenue Multi-Purpose Trail (6/10 mile, from Lakefront Park to 9th St. in St. Cloud's downtown district), 3) Fortune-Lakeside Multi-Use Trail (7 miles from Lakefront Park, along East Lakeshore Blvd. and Fortune Rd. to US 192 in Kissimmee), and 4) Kissimmee-St. Cloud Connector (1.5 miles, from E. Lakeshore Blvd. in St. Cloud, along the St. Cloud (C-31) Canal, to the Neptune Road Recreational Pathway in Kissimmee).

St. Cloud Lakefront Park features a two-mile recreational trail along the south shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga. The 12-foot wide trail is an easy ride with access to park amenities including a marina, fishing piers, swimming beach, restaurant, picnic tables, and playground. The trail links to the growing network of trails giving users access to downtown and other areas of the city.
From the Lakefront Park Trail near the splash pad and Crabby's on the Water (restaurant), cross E. Lakeshore Blvd. onto Florida Ave. The 8-foot Florida Avenue Multi-Purpose Trail runs on the wide median down the middle of the street, about 6/10 mile to 9th Avenue in St. Cloud's Downtown District - a nice local connector.
We view the trail from 9th Avenue to Lakefront Park.
Though short, the ride is pleasant. It passes residences, and features enhanced landscaping and benches. There are several cross streets, so be careful. At Cypress Ave., the trail crosses Florida Ave. and runs along the east side of the street for one block to E. Lakeshore Blvd.
From the West Loop Pavilion parking area and going west, the Lakefront Park Trail narrows and runs 1/10 mile to Columbia St. where the Fortune-Lakeshore Multi-Use Trail begins. The 10-foot trail runs roadside with a grass buffer. This is not a destination recreational biking trail, but a good local connector between St. Cloud and Kissimmee.
The trail starts on the east side of E. Lakeshore Blvd. through a residential area along the lake - there are no crossroads on this side, but driveways so be careful. At Brown Chapel Road link to the Kissimmee-St. Cloud Connector. The trail then crosses a bridge over the C-31 Canal, entering Kissimmee.(7/10 mile)
Past the bridge, the trail runs lakeside along a wetland with no homes or driveways for about 6/10 mile. We ended our ride here, where residences resume lakeside.
In another 1/4 mile, the trail crosses to the west side of E. Lakeshore Blvd., then crosses Parton Settlement Rd. (2/10 mile). From here is about 2 miles to Fortune Rd. The trail runs alongside Fortune Rd. for about 3 miles, passing residential areas, businesses, schools and athletic fields. This section is busy with crossroads and driveways, be careful. It passes over the Florida Turnpike, and ends at US 192.
The Kissimmee-St. Cloud Connector links the Neptune Rd. Recreational Pathway (Kissimmee) to the Fortune-Lakeshore Multi-Use Trail (St. Cloud). Completely off-road, it runs alongside the C-31 Canal.
