St. Cloud Lakefront Park Trail... Florida

Short but Scenic Osceola County Biking

St. Cloud Lakefront Park features a two-mile recreational trail along the south shore of East Lake Topekaliga. The park is a focal point for recreation in St. Cloud with many bikers, runners, groups, families, and individuals enjoying its facilities. Via connecting trails, the trail can be a launch point from the park to explore old residential areas of the city of St. Cloud, downtown, and the historic antique district on New York and Pennsylvania Ave. (Detailed map and photos below.)

Biking at St. Cloud Lakefront Park... Comments and Photos

  • The two-mile trail is an easy ride with access to park amenities including a marina, boat ramp, fishing piers, swimming beach, restaurant, picnic tables, a playground, and riverboat tour. As the trail is heavily used, be careful of pedestrians. An unpaved walking path runs along the canal across from the paved recreational / biking trail.
  • To the west, the trail links to the Fortune-Lakeshore Multi-Use Trail, and the Kissimmee-St. Cloud Connector(under construction). At Marina Lakefront Park in the middle, it connects to the Florida Avenue Multi-Purpose Trail to downtown. To the east, plans are eventually to extend the trail to Chisholm Regional Park.

West Loop Pavilion to Marina Lakefront Park

At the west end of the trail at Louisiana Ave. are the West Lake Pavilion with parking, restrooms, picnic tables, and access to the walking trail. The trail runs between the canal and E. Lakeshore Blvd., with a wide buffer, past residential homes across the road.

  • Continuing to the west, the trail narrows before ending at Columbia Ave. (1/10 mile). The Fortune-Lakeshore Multi-Use Trail begins here, also linking to the Kissimmee-St. Cloud Connector (under construction).

Marina Lakefront Park

This area is the center of activities at Lakefront Park. Amenities include parking, restrooms, a marina, boat ramp, fishing piers, swimming beach and beach concession, splash pad, picnic tables, a playground, restaurant, and riverboat tour.

  • This is a busy area with many children, walkers, picnickers, and beach goers - be careful biking!

Marina Lakefront Park to East Loop Pavilion

Past the beach, the trail continues about 1/2 mile to the East Loop Pavilion (picnic tables). A small parking area with 3 parking spots is at the corner of Mississippi Ave. The trail loops here, returning the same way.

  • Other options are: 1) a path running to the walking path along the canal (see below), or 2) a spur running along Mississippi Ave. one block, ending at Rummell Rd. where it will eventually extend to Ralph V. Chisholm Regional Park. (Continuing on Mississippi Ave. leads to residential areas.)

Walking Path

The unpaved walking path extends from West Loop Pavilion along the north side of the canal to Marina Lakefront Park (about 1 mile), then detours through the park. Past the beach, the walking path resumes across the canal to the East Loop Pavilion (about 1/2 mile). We visited at the eastern end.
